Nantong Open University’s "Zhongtian Intelligent Equipment Customized Class" Officially Opens
On the morning of May 22, the opening ceremony of the "Zhongtian Intelligent Equipment Customized Class", jointly built by the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Nantong Open University and Zhongtian Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., was grandly held at the university’s Architecture Museum. Cao Yaguang, Vice President of Nantong Open University; He Songbin, Production Director of Zhongtian Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd.; Huang Daohua, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering; Meng Yuxi and Ge Can, Vice Deans of the School, together with college counselors, teaching secretaries and all students of the customized class attended the ceremony, jointly opening a new chapter of talent cultivation through industry-education integration.
The ceremony was hosted by Huang Daohua, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. He introduced the attending leaders and guests, emphasized that the customized class is an important initiative for the university to deepen industry-education integration and promote the modern apprenticeship system, and then announced the official start of the opening ceremony.
Vice President Cao Yaguang delivered an address. He pointed out that vocational education must closely align with the development needs of local industries, and school-enterprise collaborative talent cultivation serves as a key approach to foster high-quality technical and skilled personnel. He encouraged students of the customized class to keep in mind their dual identity as "students and prospective employees", cherish the high-quality platform jointly built by the university and enterprise, study diligently, practice skills hard, cultivate craftsmanship, and strive to grow into high-caliber skilled talents adapted to the development of intelligent manufacturing.
He Songbin, Production Director of Zhongtian Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., introduced the company’s development status, strategic plans and talent requirements in his speech, and clarified the corresponding job directions and career growth paths for the customized class. He stated that the enterprise will fully participate in the whole process of talent training, assign technical backbones as enterprise mentors, and provide real on-the-job training conditions to help students achieve a seamless transition from campus to workplace.
Meng Yuxi, Vice Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, interpreted the Implementation Plan for Talent Cultivation of the Zhongtian Intelligent Equipment Customized Class. He highlighted featured training models and assessment criteria including the "dual mentor system of school and enterprise", "course replacement" and "rotational on-post training", building an integrated training system that deeply combines theoretical teaching with practical operation.
At the ceremony, the university and enterprise held an appointment ceremony. The university awarded certificates of "Enterprise Mentor" to the enterprise’s technical backbones, while the enterprise issued "Technical Consultant" appointment letters to the university’s professional teachers. Afterwards, student representatives presented flowers and performed the apprenticeship ceremony to school and enterprise mentors, expressing their determination to respect teachers, study hard and forge ahead. Enterprise leaders awarded the class plaque of "Zhongtian Intelligent Equipment Talent Training Base" to the customized class. Representatives of enterprise mentors and students delivered speeches successively, making solemn commitments to pass on professional skills and pursue diligent learning respectively.
After the opening ceremony, all teachers and students visited Zhongtian Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. They toured the CNC machining center on site, observed advanced production equipment, intelligent manufacturing processes and on-site management models up close, and gained direct exposure to cutting-edge industry technologies, laying a solid foundation for subsequent professional studies and on-the-job practice.
The launch of this customized class marks a vivid practice of school-enterprise linkage and win-win results for industry and education. Going forward, both sides will continue to deepen cooperation, optimize talent training models, jointly cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents, and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of Nantong’s intelligent manufacturing industry.
